About

April Goode
KEYNOTE

I'm April—a Licensed Social Worker, wife, mother, creative, entrepreneur, and, above all, someone who genuinely loves people. Life's experiences have taught me the importance of pouring back into our own cups. Grief taught me that even after life's hardest moments, we must keep moving forward. At the same time, self-care reminded me that it's okay to pause, rest, and give ourselves the grace to heal. It is truly an honor and privilege to stand before each of you. I invite you to come as you are. Let's laugh together, cry together, learn together, and most importantly, heal together as we embrace the amazing women we see in the mirror.

I am a Certified Personal Trainer, Trauma-Informed, Mental Health First Aider, entrepreneur, and founder of Release The Dope Fitness and Release Rebuild Rise. My mission is helping women build strength from the inside out by focusing on identity, self-trust, mental wellness, and physical health. My story is one of resilience, faith, and perseverance. I lost my mother at 19 years old and have spent much of my adult life taking care of my sisters and daughters and navigating challenges that could have easily broken me. I've faced depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, single motherhood, financial struggles, and most recently a Stage 1 breast cancer diagnosis. What I've learned is that strength isn't about avoiding hard things, it's about continuing to move forward when life gets hard. Throughout my journey, fitness, therapy, faith, and community have been tools that helped me release, rebuild, and rise. Today, I use those experiences to empower women to prioritize their health, trust themselves, and understand that they are capable of lifting heavy things more than they realize. I believe my story would resonate with women who are facing challenges, rebuilding their lives, or learning how to choose themselves again.

I’m truly honored to be part of this program and excited to share this space with such incredible women. My hope is to encourage and empower other women as they find their voices. I’m a therapist, empath, wife, mother, and daughter. Outside of those roles, I enjoy exercising, reading psychological thrillers, golfing, iced coffee, and laughing—I truly believe laughter is some of the best medicine. One of the greatest lessons I've learned is that community is essential to our mental wellness. I strive to create that sense of connection by supporting, encouraging, and uplifting those around me. I’m grateful to work alongside April, who has become a wonderful friend, and I look forward to connecting with women who share a passion for empowering one another.

I am a Life Coach, Business Coach, Speaker, Publisher, and Author based in Houston, Texas. My story is one of resilience, reinvention, and refusing to allow my circumstances to determine my future. I was emancipated at 16 years old, relocated on my own at 19, faced incarceration at 20, and returned home at 21 searching for direction and healing. During my journey, I endured more than 18 surgeries and medical procedures, navigated significant personal setbacks, experienced the challenges of postpartum motherhood, lost everything in a relationship, and had to rebuild my life from the ground up more than once. Through every obstacle, I discovered that my greatest strength wasn’t what happened to me—it was my ability to rise after every fall. Today, I help others do the same. As a coach and publisher, I work with individuals who are ready to transform their stories into purpose, build confidence, create businesses, write books, and step into the life they were created for. The message I would love to bring to the panel is simple: “It’s not where you start—it’s where you finish.” I would love to speak about resilience, identity, overcoming adversity, rebuilding after loss, healing from life’s disappointments, motherhood, entrepreneurship, and the power of reclaiming your time, your voice, and your future. I consider myself the underdog who refused to quit, and my goal is always to help other women realize that their setbacks do not disqualify them from success. Thank you again for considering me. I would be honored to contribute to the conversation and pour into the women attending this event.
